Black Lives Matter: George Floyd Manhandled by Minneapolis Police, Died

Minneapolis: Racism over Black Lives Matter is still prevalent in America even in the 21st century, most cases that make headlines are the white superiors oppressing the darker skin tone.

The humongous gap between the skins has grown even more apart ever since Donald Trump took the oath of Presidency. The white supremacy has become the epitome of America’s law enforcement hierarchy system; suspects of darker skin tone are judged and encountered without solid evidence. 

Black Lives Matter

Black lives matter, that was the slogan that stirred controversy and initiated a battle between fair justice of skins, heritage, and culture. This isn’t the first time a black man has died in the hands of police; the incidents report that two rookie police officers found a man matching the suspect’s description when they pulled over to investigate a report of someone trying to pay with a counterfeit bill.

“Officers Chauvin and Thao take the suspect, a black man suspect who happened to fit the description; around the corner to their squad car parked on Chicago Avenue where they restrain George Floyd down on the road with a knee to his neck, without even cross-questioning before the ill-treatment.

A short time later, the paramedics arrive at the scene because George repeatedly said that he couldn’t breathe and short after lost conscious, Floyd was taken to HCMC where he died at 9:25 p.m.”

The whole incident echoed of the one that happened in 2014 in New York, Eric Garner, a black man who died being arrested by the NYPD.

The incident took place on Monday and has been trending on Twitter, #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd with people and celebrities like Kim Kardashian commenting on how racism is still inherent in the U.S.

The video that went viral of Cops alleged manhandling George has sparked a national outcry from politicians to citizens who have called the police officers involved to be held accountable.

Apart from America’s outcry, here in Bollywood, Kareena Kapoor Khan took it to Instagram to show her support as well.

Queen B posted a cover image of an international magazine on her IG page and wrote #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd as the caption.

Meanwhile, Minneapolis Police Chief Medaria Arradondo has dismissed the four officers involved in the incident. Other than Kareena Kapoor Khan take a stand from India, celebrities like Justin Bieber, Kim Kardashian, Gigi Hadid, Sarah Silverman, have come to the forefront to seek justice for George Floyd.
