The coronavirus pandemic has spread to all corners of the world and the following infographic shows the last places on earth remaining unaffected. It is based on countries that have not reported any known COVID-19 cases so far. And, that remained absent from the extensive global tracking carried out by the Johns Hopkins University as of April 8th, 2020.
Unaffected countriesby COVID-19 on Earth
There are certain questions being raised against the true situation informant regarding COVID-19 in some countries, particularly in North Korea, with some sources in South Korea claiming coronavirus has indeed spread there via the Chinese border. Due to the secretive nature of the government in Pyongyang and the degree of state control over the media, it is hard to get the intel out.
We are still not sure about all the claims made by South Korea are true or not, however, it is also not unreasonable to think it otherwise in this instance. Also, to mention that North Korea’s isolation from the rest of the world is helping to curb the virus on a larger scale.
Turkmenistan, yet another secretive country that is notorious for censorship, has reported zero instances of COVID-19. And the other two countries in Africa — Lesotho, and Comoros have been reported officially free of the coronavirus.
In recent reports, both South Sudan and Sierra Leone have reported their first cases, and some of the most recent African countries have reported the same on the front. The virus also remains neutral in undetected in the smaller Pacific Island nations such as the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.
