One of the famous online subscription platforms, OnlyFans is a UK-based company that is known for providing adult content has launched a new feature to its platform for its users where they display verified NFTs as profile pictures.
The company further states that they are planning to introduce this feature in December. OnlyFans are among the race of various social media companies including Reddit and Twitter who have incorporated different digital tokens on their platform to explore their way.
During the time of the pandemic, the OnlyFans company which was launched in the year 2016 has experienced popularity because it takes as an opportunity to earn money by selling their content directly to their subscribers.

Various social media companies adopting NFTs
NFTs are digital assets and abbreviations of non-fungible tokens that exist on blockchain technology. They have getting huge popularity from last year when people have started buying sports highlights, videos, and artworks as non-fungible tokens.
The CEO of OnlyFans, Ami Gan in a statement said to Reuters,
“our mission is to empower creators to own their full potential. This feature is the first step in exploring the role that NFTs can play on our platform”.
NFTs minted on the Ethereum blockchain is the only NFT supported by OnlyFans. To mark the creator’s authenticity they will show the NFT profile picture as an Ethereum. Various other social media platforms are also working on NFTs. Recently the head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri also said that the company is planning to work on NFTs.
